yes it is linked, i am 14 and have had ibs since i was 4, dont worry about it too much, ibs is mainly triggered by your menstral cycle changing eg periods. and can alter or change the way it is working, so you can be late, early etc... dont worry but if the problem gets worse or if it doesnt start for a while longer, and if you have definatly ruled out pregnancy, then i would consult a doctor.
